Join three of our own Delta Community Music School faculty in a special performance of masterworks for clarinet, cello and piano.  Johannes Brahms Trio Op. 114 for Clarinet, Cello and Piano,  Ludwig van Beethoven’s Trio Op. 11 and Nina Rota’s Trio for Clarinet Cello and Piano.

Stephen is an accomplished clarinettist  saxophonist and pianist performing both classical chamber music and jazz idioms, performing the gamut from classical clarinet, chamber and orchestral repertoire to jazz standards, original compositions and free improvisation. His orchestral arrangements have been performed by the Delta Youth Orchestra, Clyde Mitchell and the Sinfonia of the North Shore (North Vancouver), Pacific Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Richmond Community Orchestra , and others. Stephen serves as the Music Director of the Delta Community Music School and the Delta Youth Orchestra and teaches at the Richmond Music School and VSO School of Music

Bo holds a Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from the University of North Texas, a Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music, as well as a Performer’s Diploma from the Indiana University where he studied with distinguished cellist Janos Starker. His teachers also included renowned cellists Steven Doane, Carter Enyeart , Marc Johnson and Eric Wilson.
Mr. Peng is a two-time winner of the Music Teacher National Association Competitions (Strings Division) and also 3rd prize winner in the International Chamber Music Competition held by the Czech Radio “Spring of Prague”.
Bo is currently the cellist with the Borealis String Quartet and has toured extensively through North America, Europe and Asia. As a soloist and chamber musician, he attended several summer festivals and master classes including International Summer Academy at University Mozarteum (Salzburg, Austria) on the Johann Strauss Foundation (2002 and 2003), the Banff Summer Festival, the Spoleto Summer Festival, the Taos Chamber Music Festival and the National Arts Center Young Artists Programme where he worked with world-class musicians such as Lynn Harrell, Gary Hoffmann, Aldo Parisot, Pinchas Zurkermann and the Tokyo String Quartet.

Bernard holds a Masters in Performance (piano) from UBC. In a career spanning twenty years, Bernard Duerksen has established himself as a reputable and respected pianist and teacher. He has appeared in concert with many leading west coast musicians, including Ian Hampton, cello, Arthur Polson, violin, Brenda Fedoruk, flute, Gene Ramsbottom, clarinet, Jesse Read, bassoon, Steve Denroche, French horn and Chris Robertson, trumpet. Mr Duerksen has been actively teaching throughout his career. Mr Duerksen also teaches at the Langley Community Music School and the VSO School of Music.
